What is an assessment?
Before you are admitted to one of our treatment programs at Aurora Charter Oak, we will gather information about your current and past medical, mental health and/or substance use history. This assessment process allows us to efficiently and effectively evaluate how you are feeling and coping, both emotionally and physically, so that we may identify and recommend which services best meet your needs. If you are planning to come to Charter Oak for an assessment, feel free to bring a family member or friend, as this may be helpful for support and to provide additional information.
The assessment process helps us to determine whether you need to be hospitalized in one of our inpatient units or receive some other type of service, such as treatment in our Recovery Center (RTC), participation in one of our outpatient programs, or care available elsewhere in the community. Once the assessment is complete, our staff will discuss the results with you and answer any questions you may have.
