Aurora Charter Oak Healthcare’s Adult Inpatient Mental Health treatment program offers a safe, secure and therapeutic environment for adults (age 18 and older) with acute mental health issues. Our inpatient treatment team provides 24-hour monitoring, psychiatric care, and stabilization for patients who suffer from common conditions such as:
- Depression
- Bipolar Disorder
- Psychosis/Schizophrenia
- Anxiety
- Substance-Related Disorders with Psychiatric Symptoms
Inpatient mental health treatment is designed to stabilize patients and return them to an improved level of functioning as quickly as possible. Our integrated inpatient psychiatric care team includes psychiatrists, internists, registered nurses, case managers/social workers, dieticians, activity therapists, and ancillary nursing staff who all work closely with each patient to formulate treatment goals and continually assess progress in meeting such goals.
Our highly structured and comprehensive inpatient mental health treatment program in California includes group and family therapy, medication management, and a variety of other unit activities, including recreation, socialization and expressive therapies. Treatment services at our Covina, CA, hospital are focused on helping patients develop the necessary coping skills to deal with the issues that led them to hospitalization. A dual-diagnosis track in this program allows for treatment of both mental health and substance-abuse related disorders. Upon completing inpatient rehab, case management staff provide discharge services and arrange follow-up care that is individualized for the special needs of each patient.
Dual Diagnosis Inpatient Rehab
Aurora Charter Oak Behavioral Health Care’s Dual Diagnosis Program is designed to treat patients who struggle with psychiatric illness compounded by chemical dependency. Treatment at our inpatient mental health facilities may initially include medically supervised detoxification and then lead to a comprehensive psychiatric care program that addresses both the psychiatric and chemical dependency diagnosis. Patients in this program are ultimately introduced to the 12-Step Model and given tools to help them maintain their sobriety outside of care.
