Patient Satisfaction Outcomes
Individuals who receive treatment at Aurora Charter Oak Hospital and Charter Oak Recovery Center (RTC) are asked to complete a satisfaction survey. The questions on the survey represent “core indicators” that are used by many hospitals across the country. This allows hospitals and consumers to compare results between hospitals, and develop quality improvement plans when indicated.
Aurora Charter Oak Hospital is pleased that we receive very high ratings on our patient satisfaction surveys, with 85% or greater satisfaction scores on all indicators.

“I can’t find words to describe how I feel toward each of you. Each of you touched my life and left prints on my heart. I am very grateful and thankful to all of you for the care and kindness shown. Thank you for serving me delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to reflect my life. Thank you for making my discharge smooth and fast, charging my phone, listening to my story. You each taught me something valuable.I would like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for what you have done for me.”
“I came to you a broken and desperate man, suffering in the disease of alcoholism. You were literally the last house on the block for me. I felt as though there was no other hope for me to have any recovery from this deadly disease. You opened your doors and your hearts to me. There I began my journey onto my second chance in life. With the love, compassion and understanding from the staff and camaraderie of the residents, I finally found true sobriety in my life. With God as your guide, you have given me a gift that no amount of money can purchase. Today I can look in the mirror without shame and live a purposeful and meaningful life. I cannot thank you enough. I will be forever grateful to you and to God. Please continue to do God’s work.”
“It has been a little over a month now since __________ left Charter Oak, and I wanted to let you know how he is doing. _________ is working his program. He is so much different. He spends a great deal of time with us and he has been spending a lot of time with his brother, which is a good thing. He is going to the gym almost every day, and watching his diet. He looks fantastic! And we are happy to report he just started a job last week. Of course, we still need to take one day at a time, but we are feeling so hopeful for the first time in the past three years. I want to take this time to thank you and your staff for the care that you gave him at Charter Oak. I truly believe that your love and support, and the special attention ____________received, made the difference to getting him on the right track. Please pass this on to all of your staff and thank them for us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”
“I would like to thank the entire staff. If it weren’t for the staff’s compassion and professionalism, there could be a major problem. I am extremely impressed with each and every staff member! They all have an extremely hard job to do, which comes with very little thanks. From my heart to all of yours, thank you!!!”
“This is to give praise to the staff on the Southwest wing. My hubby and I were very well treated and all staff treated us with respect. The staff were awesome…the food was really good also. Loved what we had to eat at snack time.”
“I write you this letter from the utmost gratitude in my heart. Three days ago I was admitted and was twenty minutes from saying goodbye to this world. I’m not a person who doesn’t think there are consequences. Some divine intervention brought me to this facility. If you know anything about the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life,” I was George: hopeless, depressed and felt that I made no difference in anyone’s life. The important part I want to address to you is that your staff are lifesavers. They don’t save lives like a thoracic surgeon, they save lives with a word, a hug, a deed. Compassion and empathy are what make that substance. They are truly angels touched by God’s hands to help the rest of us. Many patients may come and go and never acknowledge the tenacity, the fortitude and absolute courage of these staff and above all, the compassion and empathy they prove every single day. Let me say how fortunate you and this facility are to have the honor to be affiliated with them.”
