Policy:
Patients will be allowed to have equal visitation rights irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, race, color, national origin, religion, gender identity, or disability as stipulated by law and will be denied visitors only on a physician’s written order for good cause or restricted by policy exceptions.
Guidelines for Visiting a Patient
All visits much be scheduled 24 hours in advance and are limited to each patient receiving one scheduled visit every other day.
All visiting is scheduled by the Case Manager and must be scheduled on the units visiting log. Nurse Supervisor has the ability to approve visiting that has not been previously scheduled at their discretion. If you are unsure of who your loved one’s case manager is please call our main number, 800-654-2673, to be directed.
Visitations will be about 20 mins to ensure safety of patients and visitors alike.
There is typically no visiting during the following times: 12:00pm-1:00pm (patient lunch), 2:00pm-4:00pm (shift exchange) or 5:00pm-6:00pm (patient dinner)
All visitors must check in with hospital receptionist to obtain a visitor’s wristband and sign the register. Visitors MUST show a form of ID. Given information on what items cannot be taken to the units i.e., cell phone, food, purses, etc.
Visitations can ONLY consist of 1-2 people at a time. Minor children are not allowed to visit. Exceptions may be made by Director of Nursing or Director of Clinical Services.
Prior to giving the patient any packages, gifts or personal items, visitors must have the items cleared by the nursing staff.
Visitors are expected to maintain acceptable behavior while visiting.
Clergy are welcome at any hour.
Any restriction of visit must be clinically necessary or reasonable. Restrictions may include the following:
- If the visit interferes with the care of the patient/others
- Patient safety concerns
- Infection control issues
- Court order
- Disruptive visitor
- Patient needs rest
- Patient is having a procedure done
A patient has a right to withdraw or deny consent to visit at any time during hospitalization.

Patient Telephones/Payphones are available for use on all units. The phones are for use only during free time, when no groups are scheduled and between the hours of 6:00 am and 10:00 pm.
