Treatment in the hospital for an individual with a substance use problem may initially include medically supervised detoxification, followed by a comprehensive co-occurring disorder treatment program. We introduce patients to the 12-Step Model and give them tools to help them maintain their sobriety.
Our integrated treatment team includes psychiatrists, internists, registered nurses, mental health therapists, case managers/social workers, chemical dependency counselors, activity therapists who work closely with each patient to formulate individual treatment goals and assess progress. All patients at Aurora Charter Oak Hospital are assigned to a Case Manager who arranges follow-up care in the community based on each patient’s needs.
