11th Annual Run4Recovery a Big Success!
For the past eleven years, Robin McGeough, Aurora Charter Oak's Director of Chemical Dependency Services, has spearheaded Run4Recovery to raise money for men and women in recovery from substance abuse.
Each year, all the monies raised by Run4Recovery go to Puente House Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation.
In turn, Aurora Charter Oak clients who need a structured sober living environment and further treatment can receive scholarships from the foundation.
This year on Saturday, October 20, a 5K Fun Walk/Run event was held on the grounds of Aurora Charter Oak.
Charter Oak alumni, employees, friends and family all enjoyed a vendor fair, raffle and silent auction, in addition to running and/or walking the 5K course around the hospital.
Other events included two bake sales at the hospital, a Chipotle's fundraiser and a Shakey's Pizza Night in Covina.
All together, over $10,000 was raised thru these events and individual donations.
Plus, $20,000 is being donated by Karl Moris and family, making this the most successful Run4Recovery event ever!
